It’s a holiday.
I don’t have money or a girlfriend.
I go to the convenience store where there’s a girl outside chatting looking worried.
Her name is Mai-chan. She lives around here.
I ask her what’s up and she says she’s locked out of the house.
Her mother is out and won’t be back until late.
In the spur of the moment I invite her to my place.
We can wait for her mom to call.
Alone all day. Just Mai-chan and me.
“Thanks!”
She smiles.
